Industry Technology can change overnight. As Union Carpenters, Millwrights, Floorlayers and Cabinet-Shop/Specialty Workers we have an obligation to provide the skills demanded by the construcion industry and we must be committed to providing those skills. We can only honor that commitment by making sure we offer the training and upgrading to ensure our members can maintain the level that makes them the most productive workers in the construction industry. ClothingWith the exception of theory classes (no hands-on shop) all participants are required to wear work clothes and work shoes or boots. Class participants are not permitted to wear cut-offs, tank tops, shorts, sweat pants, sneakers or walking shoes. Individuals who show up for class without the proper clothing will not be permitted to start class. ToolsParticipants attending classes that require hands-on shop participation will be expected to have the proper tools. If you do receive a list of specific tolls to bring with your class notification, it is mandatory that you at least bring basic tools the first night of class. The instructor will then notify you or give you a list of any other tools that are reuired. Power and specialized tools will be available at the center. Effective July, 2004
There will no longer be any fees required to attend J Level skill enhancement course, however, certain rules and procedures must be followed in order for the Carpenters Training Funds to be able to efficiently notify, schedule and credit the completed classes. If a participant fails to follow the established procedures they may be excluded from registering for classes in the future. |
