The Joseph J. D'Aries Carpenters Training Center is located at 221 South 31st Street in Kenilworth, New Jersey. A 52,000 square foot facility there is, with the current dual level interior additions, approximately 68,000 square feet used for training apprentices and journey level carpenters. It is currently utilized by 11 commercial carpenter local unions plus Local #2212 Floorlayers, Mill Shop and Specialty Local #821, and Millwright Local #715.

Having outgrown the leased building in Mountainside in 1990 the NJCATEF purchased and renovated the building at 221 South 31st Street in Kenilworth. In November of 1990 the Co-Chairmen and Trustees dedicated the building to Joseph J. D'Aries who was the Administrative Manager of the Fund from its inception in 1969. A member of Local 620 since 1946 Joseph D'Aries brought numerous credentials and wide ranging experience to the position of Administrative Manager. Joe taught apprentice classes in Morris County for twelve years and served on the State Council's Apprentice Committee. Joe established a single statewide training program for carpenters and developed a mandatory sequential curriculum based on United Brotherhood of Carpenters Training Department materials. Working with the New Jersey Department of Vocational Education the new programs were phased into the Participating evening schools in 1972. According to Joe D'Aries "The training curriculum is in a constant state of revision as new materials, techniques and tools are introduced. As curriculum is revised some phases of the training become obsolete. We must continue to change and revise with the trade if we are to continue to provide competent, productive apprentices and journeymen to the contractors that utilize our labor."

John Mackay, member of Carpenters Local 455, has been the Training Director at the North Jersey Training Center since it's inception in 1986.
