Transit and Level

Course Number: GE101
Part 1

Course Description: This course presents the operation, function and proper use of the David White LT8300 transit-level. Skills introduced include: Setting up the transit and reading elevations; Interpreting bench marks given at sea level, 0.0' or 100.0'; Transferring bench mark levels requiring multiple transit setups; Plumbing over a point; Turning angles and reading the Vernier Scale.

Part 2
Course Description: This course provides practical exercise in building layout techniques in a simulated light construction application, using ATG6 Auto Level and the DT104 Digital Transit, including: Setting up batter boards and establishing building lines from property lines; Transferring bench marks to establish grades; Reading the Vernier Scale.

Part 1 and Part 2 Course Length: 36 hours.
Participants are urged to complete Parts 1 and 2 but must complete Part 1 prior to taking Part 2. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for each part successfully completed.
