Stepping up to Foreman
Course Number: SU100
Course Description: This course explains the basic ideas, techniques, and skills you need to be effective. It shows what you will encounter as a Foreman and presents strategies and checklists to help the new Foreman anticipate each new challenge and deal with it. Designed to help you, as a Foreman, work safely, on schedule, under budget and deliver quality work for the contractor.
Each participant will receive and use the UBC "Stepping up to UBC Foreman"
Course Length : 24 hours ( 8 - 3 hr. nights)
Part I
Construction Foreman
Unit 1 - Leadership and Motivation.
Course Number: SU101
Course Description: The New Jersey Carpenters Apprentice Training Program now has a comprehensive program designed specifically to teach and or/improve field supervisors' skills, efficiency and productivity. The Supervisory Training Program (STP) consists of twelve units that focus on the needs of supervisors and the skills they must have to be effective. Participants in the STP courses draw upon their field experience and learn through interaction with other individuals from all areas of the construction industry. Both old and new skills are integrated into more professional supervisory performance as participants' progress through the STP units. Participants completing eight of the ten STP Superintendent units are eligible to receive a completion certificate to recognize their dedication to the improvement of their supervisory skills.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of the UBC "Stepping up to Foreman"
Course Length: Six 4 1/2 hour nights.
